ABOUT US

The Wairarapa Community Centre was established in 2002 when our local community identified a need for a social service hub for agencies, to share resources and skills and reduce rental costs. Firstly leasing an unused factory, which housed 13 agencies until 2011 community grants were obtained enabling the purchase of our present site, 41 Perry Street Masterton. The Wairarapa Community Centre Incorporated Society then registered as a Charitable Trust.

We offer 3 unique roles within our community which are:

1) A Facility - The Centre is a large building comprising of a reception area, 18 offices of various sizes, and a conference room with a commercial kitchen.

2) A Programme Provider - Several projects have been, and are being, run by the Community Centre Trust in response to identified needs in the community. The Centre Manager has been key to identifying needs, establishing projects to meet those needs, and ensuring there is no duplication of these projects.

3) Community Coordination - a pivotal connection service to the many enquiries we receive at our front reception.
